One Sheet Wonder Project Recipe:

  1. Prepare Bases and MatsWhisper White Thick base is 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 to create a top fold card.Mats are Pretty Peacock, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
  2. Cut your 6×6 paper down to size by cutting at 3 7/8 on the vertical cut and trim the large remaining piece off at 5 1/8. Keep the small strip for lining the inside of the card. Set aside the larger strip for a later project.
  3. Cut the remaining dsp panel down. You can play with your own measurements but make sure you have one strip wider than the other and then on the horizontal cuts make one taller and one shorter. This adds more visual interest to the layout.I cut mine at 2.5″ wide and then the wider strip I trimmed at 3″ and the skinny strip I cut at 2″
  4. Play with your pieces and your mats to find a combination you desire. Make sure to pay attention to the orientation of your papers. Remember, you have two sides to work with so have fun!Lay them all out before you adhere them to the matting layer. There will be a very thin border so take care when putting this together.
  5. Stamp your sentiment on a whisper white scrap and punch with the 2″ circle punch.Use the starburst punch to make a matting layer for the sentiment.I like to use ink and the starburst cardstock in the same color as the back panel.Adhere the sentiment to the starburst and add to the cardfront with dimensionals. If desired add embellishments or ribbon.

    I am confused with the 4pc sizes. DSP is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 for 1st cut
The next 4 pc is where I am not getting the sizes correctly.
    1
    2
    3
    4
I like the idea of using DSP in that way , it is a good way to use up DSP. nice card

      Joyce,

You can actually do a variety of cuts once you have that basic panel size. The key is to have on piece thicker than the other when you cut the veritcal. Than you want to make sure when you cut each of those on the horizontal that you cut off center so you end up with a tall and short piece. If you haven’t watched the video tutorial yet I would recommend that as it may be easier to follow than my written instructions.

For my cards this time I cut the panel vertically to end up with one piece 2 1/2 and the other piece 1 3/8. I then cut the wider piece horizontally at 3 inches from the top and the skinny piece 2 inches from the top. I hope this helps!

I am glad you were able to make the designs. The smaller measurements can be a little tricky!

I grew up in the big city but moved to beautiful Helena, MT back in 1993 where I fell in love with Big Sky Country. I have two amazing adult children for whom I thank God daily. During the day I am blessed to work at a local Christian School. On my off-time I enjoy all things stamping and paper crafting! You can always tell when I've been creating...inky fingers are happy fingers!

My journey to sharing my projects online began when I needed to raise extra funds for a missions trip and a friend encouraged me to teach a card class. I found out I loved teaching and sharing my passion with others. Blogging, YouTube and other social media allows me to share inspiration outside my local community. It is so great to connect with people from all over the world with our common love of paper crafting!

You can find inspiration and tutorials here on my blog and my YouTube channel. I hope you'll get out your paper, stamp and ink and create with me!
